Which gold colour should I choose for my smooth ring?

All our rings are made from 100% recycled gold, and we offer red gold, white gold, rose gold and palladium as standard options for our smooth rings. But if you would prefer a yellow gold ring, we can of course arrange that too. Think about which colour you like best and which metal you usually wear in other jewellery. When it comes to engagement or wedding rings, some couples feel it is important to choose the same metal. This can certainly be beautiful and create a sense of unity, but don't let that be the deciding factor. Ultimately, the most important thing is that you choose the gold colour you like best, as the ring is meant to be worn every day for many years.

What size should I choose for the rings?

We will gladly send you a free ring sizer so you can measure at home at your leisure. Keep in mind that finger sizes can vary throughout the day and are also affected by heat and cold, so try it on several times. A good rule of thumb is that the wider the ring you choose, the looser it can fit so that you can easily slip it over your knuckle and avoid problems with it being too tight against your skin. A thin ring, on the other hand, is easier to slip on and off and is less likely to feel too tight against the skin. If you choose the wrong size, don't worry, Gold of Sweden always includes a free size change.

What models of plain rings are available?

In the Gold of Sweden Plain Collection, you will find a selection of plain rings that are classic and timeless, yet varied enough for you to find your personal favourite. Do you prefer a model with very straight edges, or would you rather have a ring with soft, rounded shapes or something in between? The choice is yours, and the best thing to do is try on a few different models to see what feels right. Once you have chosen a model, you need to decide on the size of your ring. It is important to think about what you might want to combine your plain ring with in the future. For example, it can be difficult to combine a very high, smooth ring with an eternity ring. A low ring is often perceived as very comfortable on the finger, unlike a high ring, which can feel slightly uncomfortable at first. However, this is usually a matter of habit, and many people, especially men, tend to prefer a ring with a little more weight. As standard, Gold of Sweden offers a traditional polished or matt finish on our smooth rings. If you would like a different look, such as a brushed or hammered finish, or perhaps some text on the top of the ring, we will of course be happy to arrange this for you!

What can I wear with my smooth gold ring?

A smooth ring can be worn alone on any finger as a stylish piece of jewellery. When you wear a smooth ring as an engagement ring, it can be nice to combine it with a wedding band or a solitaire ring. If you are someone who likes lots of sparkle and glitter, you can choose to combine it with a side stone ring that has both a centre stone and small stones in the band. As a man, you can match your plain ring with, for example, a similar plain model but with a narrower band, perhaps with a matte finish? Or you can match it with a plain model with a small gemstone set in it, a colourless or black diamond, or why not a green emerald?

Can I have something engraved on my plain rings?

When you purchase your rings from Gold of Sweden, free engraving is always included if you wish. Choose between straight or italic text. When it comes to engraving on engagement and wedding rings, the most common choice is to write names and dates, but of course there is the option to be more personal, perhaps a nickname, a place or lyrics from a song? Only your imagination and the space on the rings set the limits.

Can I send in my own gold to pay for the rings?

If you have your own gold, you are welcome to send it to us for recycling, and you will also receive a higher price per gram for the amount of gold that corresponds to the weight of your new ring. It can therefore make a big difference in price to use your own gold when purchasing new plain rings from us.
