GOLD

Since pure gold is too soft for jewelry making, it is mixed with other metals to create various types of alloys. Gold content is measured in karats, which indicates the percentage of the metal that is pure gold; the remainder consists of other metals such as silver, copper, and palladium. A 14-karat ring contains 58.5% pure gold and is therefore stamped 585, an 18-karat ring contains 75% pure gold and is stamped 750.

We use only recycled gold, thereby helping to reduce global demand for newly mined metals and the environmental strain this causes. The quality of our recycled gold is exactly the same as that of newly mined gold, but the process requires only a fraction of the resources used in mining—a sustainable and obvious choice, in our view.

We offer yellow gold and white gold as standard, but if you would like a ring in a different colour, such as red gold or rose gold, we can of course arrange this.

14 K / 18 K YELLOW GOLD

Yellow gold is an alloy of gold, copper, and silver. The color is the same regardless of whether you choose 14-karat or 18-karat gold, the difference is that a 14-karat ring is slightly harder and therefore resists scratches a little better.

14K / 18K WHITE GOLD

White gold is an alloy of gold, palladium, silver, copper, and zinc. Here, too, you can choose between 14 or 18 karats. By default, all our white gold rings are rhodium-plated, which means they have been dipped in a rhodium bath to achieve a whiter finish. This coating wears off over time, so you may need to have your ring rhodium-plated again after a while. Of course, you can also get your ring without rhodium plating if you prefer, but it will then have a slightly grayer tone.

PLATINUM

Platinum consists of 95% platinum and 5% tungsten, and rings made of this metal are stamped 950. Platinum is a naturally white metal and therefore does not need to be rhodium-plated. Platinum is heavier than white gold and offers better durability than white gold in terms of settings and dimensional stability; however, platinum is more prone to minor surface scratches compared to white gold.

FINISH

For our smooth rings, you can choose between a polished or matte finish as standard. Our matte finish is what is commonly known as Rosenholm matte. If you prefer a different type of finish, such as diamond-brushed or hammered, we can certainly accommodate that.

It’s important to note that, with different types of finishes, the surface wears over time and needs to be refinished periodically to maintain its original appearance.
