Carat - The size of a diamond
Carat is a measure of the size of a diamond, but since it is a unit of weight, the size in millimetres may vary slightly from stone to stone. The following approximate sizes apply to round diamonds.
Carat | Size | Carat | Size |
0.10 | 3,0 mm | 0.60 | 5,4 mm |
0.15 | 3,4 mm | 0.70 | 5,7 mm |
0.20 | 3,8 mm | 0.80 | 6,0 mm |
0.25 | 4,0 mm | 0.90 | 6,2 mm |
0.30 | 4,3 mm | 1.00 | 6,5 mm |
0.40 | 4,8 mm | 1.25 | 7,0 mm |
0.50 | 5,0 mm | 1.50 |
It is not possible to purchase the ring without a stone, so you will need to select the size (carat) of the diamond you want.
The first price shown is the base price of the ring without a stone, and this only applies if you choose to purchase the ring with a moissanite or a diamond of a quality other than our standard. The stone is then purchased as a separate product.
If you wish to purchase a moissanite for your ring, you can ignore the carat selection as you will add the moissanite to your basket separately. If it is a side stone ring, you can choose whether you want to combine the moissanite (centre stone) with lab-grown or natural diamonds as side stones. Read more and see our range of moissanites here.
